The Australian Government is ''deeply concerned'' at news that seven leaders of the Iranian Baha'i community have been charged with spying for Israel, insulting Islam and distributing anti-Iran propaganda.

I wish to awaken you out of your deep slumber. Do you know in what day you are living? Do you realize in what dispensation you exist? Have you not read in the holy scriptures that at the consummation of the ages there would dawn a day -- the sum total of all past days? This is the day when the Lord of hosts hath come on the clouds of glory. This is the day in which the inhabitants of the world shall enter under the tent of the word of God. This is the day whose real sovereign is His Highness the Almighty. This is the day when the east and the west shall embrace each other like unto two lovers; war and contention shall be forgotten and nations and governments shall enter into an eternal bond of amity and conciliation. This century is the fulfillment of the promised century, the dawn of the appearances of the glorious visions of past prophets and sages.

Now is the early dawn; ere long the effulgent sun shall rise and station itself in the meridian of its majesty. Then ye shall observe the effects -- then ye shall behold what heavenly illumination has become manifest -- then ye shall comprehend that these are the infinite bestowals of God -- then ye shall realize that this world has become another world and ye shall perceive the divine instructions, universally spread.

Rainn Wilson has stepped away from his comedic hijinx on The Office to write news commentary for CNN.
The actor, who plays Dwight Schrute on the NBC television comedy is opening up about his Baha'i faith in an effort to stop religious persecution in Iran.
Needless to say the Muslim authorities did not like the Baha'is very much, accusing them of heresy and apostasy. Tens of thousands were killed in the early years of the faith, and the persecutions have continued off and on for the past 150 years," Wilson wrote on the CNN blog.
Wilson describes the Baha'i faith as the belief "that there is only one God and therefore only one religion." Praise be to God! the mediaeval ages of darkness have passed away and this century of radiance has dawned, -- this century wherein the reality of things is becoming evident, -- wherein science is penetrating the mysteries of the universe, the oneness of the world of humanity is being established and service to mankind is the paramount motive of all existence. Shall we remain steeped in our fanaticisms and cling to our prejudices? Is it fitting that we should still be bound and restricted by ancient fables and superstitions of the past; be handicapped by superannuated beliefs and the ignorances of dark ages, waging religious wars, fighting and shedding blood, shunning and anathematizing each other? Is this becoming? Is it not better for us to be loving and considerate toward each other? Is it not preferable to enjoy fellowship and unity; join in anthems of praise to the most high God and extol all His prophets in the spirit of acceptance and true vision? Then indeed this world will become a paradise and the promised Day of God will dawn. Then according to the prophecy of Isaiah the wolf and the lamb will drink from the same stream, the owl and the vulture will nest together in the same branches and the lion and the calf pasture in the same meadow. What does this mean? It means that fierce and contending religions, hostile creeds and divergent beliefs will reconcile and associate, notwithstanding their former hatreds and antagonism. Through the liberalism of human attitude demanded in this radiant century they will blend together in perfect fellowship and love. This is the spirit and meaning of Isaiah's words. There will never be a day when this prophecy will come to pass literally, for these animals by their natures cannot mingle and associate in kindness and love. Therefore this prophecy symbolizes the unity and agreement of races, nations and peoples who will come together in attitudes of intelligence, illumination and spirituality.

The age has dawned when human fellowship will become a reality.

The century has come when all religions shall be unified...

Members of an Edmond religious community are supporting members of their faith awaiting trial in Iran for allegedly spying for Israel.

Iranian officials have announced that seven Bahᒭ leaders of that country would be sent to Irans revolutionary court this week on charges of ғespionage for Israel, insulting religious sanctities and propaganda against the Islamic Republic.

Terri Angier, the local Bahԡҭ spokeswoman, said there is a pattern when the Iranian government announces legal proceedings in this manner, and past trials often ended not so good.Ӕ

The leaders categorically deny the charges, according to information posted on the official Web site of U.S. Bahᒭs.

Last summer, U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin, R-Edmond, voted for a House resolution condemning the persecution of Bahᒭs in Iran. It passed 408-3.

A second resolution condemning Iran for its state-sponsored persecution of its Bahai minority and for violating an international human rights accord has not been voted on yet.

Alex Weintz, FallinҒs spokesman, said Fallin supports the Bahᒭs and all freedom-loving individuals in their opposition to un-Democratic and repressive policies.

Iran has a long history of repressing religious minorities, brutalizing its own citizens and trampling on the rights of any who oppose the clerics and despots who control the country, Weintz said.

The persecution of the BahaӒi and other minority and dissident groups is a disgrace to the nation of Iran and an attack on freedom and justice everywhere, Weintz said.

IranԒs actions are not limited to Bahᒭs.

Last month, authorities arrested three Christians: Jamal Ghalishorani, Nadereh Jamali and Hamik Khachikian, according to the U.S. State Department. In addition, authorities detained several members of the Gonabadi Dervishes, followers of Sufism, on Kish Island in January.

Angier said the Bahai faith is not recognized in the Iranian Constitution.

Many Iranian Bahҡҭs who fled the country during the past 30 years settled in the Oklahoma City area, Angier said.

Pari Ferdowsian and her family fled Iran and moved to Edmond in 1986. Angier said the account of their escape from Iran is a heart-wrenching one in which several members almost died and several others sustained permanent injuries such as severe burns as they fled through the desert.

Ferdowsian said she communicates with family and friends in Iran and she fears for their safety.

I am very upset over the situation,Ӕ Ferdowsian said, translated by Angier. I know the seven Bahӡҭs are under a lot of pressure and harsh conditions.

They cannot talk to their attorney, are given no rights and are being accused of things they obviously didnӒt do, just because they are Bahᒭs and practice their religious beliefs in a very peaceful way. It is very unjust to treat any human being like that and in their case, they have done nothing wrong.

Ferdowsian said family members believe their phones are being tapped and are not able to talk freely.

ԓWe have been praying for all the Bahᒭs of Iran and particularly for the seven who face a trial, Ferdowsian said. ԓWe seek Gods assistance and mercy for them and their loved ones.Ҕ

It behooveth us, therefore, to make the utmost endeavour, that, by God's invisible assistance, these dark veils, these clouds of Heaven-sent trials, may not hinder us from beholding the beauty of His shining Countenance, and that we may recognize Him only by His own Self. And should we ask for a testimony of His truth, we should content ourselves with one, and only one; that thereby we may attain unto Him Who is the Fountain-head of infinite grace, and in Whose presence all the world's abundance fadeth into nothingness, that we may cease to cavil at Him every day and to cleave unto our own idle fancy.

Why 21st century can be the most crucial point in the evolution of human civilization? Should intelligence help us to create or destroy? Why we need a new paradigm shift in the way of thinking, in all our actions? Governments, politicians, scientists, religions, military forces, chemical, biological, nuclear weapons are irrelevant when civilian planes can be used as weapons.

World peace and planet Earth survival is a PERSONAL thing!

Consider for instance such things as liberty, civilization and the like. However much men of understanding may favorably regard them, they will, if carried to excess, exercise a pernicious influence upon men.... Please God, the peoples of the world may be led, as the result of the high endeavors exerted by their rulers and the wise and learned amongst men, to recognize their best interests. How long will humanity persist in its waywardness? How long will injustice continue? How long is chaos and confusion to reign amongst men? How long will discord agitate the face of society?... The winds of despair are, alas, blowing from every direction, and the strife that divideth and afflicteth the human race is daily increasing. The signs of impending convulsions and chaos can now be discerned, inasmuch as the prevailing order appeareth to be lamentably defective. I beseech God, exalted be His glory, that He may graciously awaken the peoples of the earth, may grant that the end of their conduct may be profitable unto them, and aid them to accomplish that which beseemeth their station.
